It's a bit weird to say this but gear can be inspiring. Just like certain sounds, melodic phrases, rhythms, sometimes I'm just moved by specific things. In this case, it was the M8.

Working on a tracker is somewhat new to me. It's an old way of working and it demands much more thought, deliberation, and precision. It can be frustrating and even seemingly impossible at times. But it can also be very freeing. Phrases come together in moments, new modulation possibilities are presented (tables people, use those tables!). It's like learning a new language. You might not be able to write poetry in it, but new horizons are opened and you might eventually be able to write a limerick.
